Mandatory Display of Certificates of Classification

Amendments to the FRS Act and Building Act came into force on 23rd April 2008 which requires NEW Certificates of Classification to be immediately displayed conspicuously near the building’s main entrance. For buildings built between 1 July 97 & 22 April 08, the owner has until 23 April 09 to locate and display the older Certificates of Classification or risk a penalty of $12,375.  

Australian Standard AS 1851 – 2005

The recently revised Australian Standard AS 1851 – 2005 for Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment must be adopted in Queensland under this State’s Legislation.
